Kensington Water Management Committee Expands Mandate

(2015-06-17) The recently renamed Kensington Water Management Committee was formed to work with residents of Kensington to create a Water Conservation Strategy for the Town.

Water safety has now been added to water conservation mandate of the Committee.

Annual General Meeting

(2015-04-17) The Annual General Meeting of the Association will be held at 7:00 pm, Monday, April 27th in the Upper Hall of the Royal Canadian Legion in Kensington.

Guest speaker after the business meeting will be John Jamieson, Executive Director of the PEI Federation of Agriculture.

Association members and the public welcome. Light refreshments will be served. Memberships available.

Woodlot Tour

(2015-02-10) The 5th Annual Winter Woodlot Tour originally scheduled for January 31st will go ahead on Saturday, Feb 14th from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the Brookvale Nordic Centre, at 1800, Route 13, Brookvale.

Winter Woodlot Tour Invitation

(2015-01-21) Wheatley River, Hunter-Clyde and West River watershed groups working with the PEI Departments of Agriculture and Forestry, and Tourism and Culture would like to invite the public to attend the fifth annual Winter Woodlot Tour on Saturday January 31st, 2015. Storm date is Saturday February 14th.

This free event will run from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the Brookvale Nordic Centre, at 1800, Route 13, Brookvale. The Brookvale Nordic Ski Centre is a fantastic facility that provides diverse winter recreational activities on lands with a traditional Island history of resource use - farming, early forestry styles, transitioning to modern forestry and allowing for public use of public lands.

The tour features: Stream Enhancement Programs, Winter Obstacle course, Forestry Programs, Snowshoeing & skiing, Island Winter Wildlife, Chainsaw Maintenance and Safety, Maple syrup treats, Birds of Prey, Value Added Wood Products, Birding P.E.I. and many other interesting displays and presentations.

Experts from the Department of Agriculture and Forestry and other organizations will be on hand to answer any questions you may have regarding Forests, Wildlife and Watershed management. There is no charge to attend this special event and there will be free hot cider in the Lodge.
